They were born in New York City in 1958, but have lived and worked in Australia since the late 1960s.
The band have had a long and varied musical career in Australia, and have been nominated for a record-breaking 11 Grammys.
They are still touring, with dates including the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne and Adelaide, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Brisbane.
