When the ‘D’ is gone: What will the next ‘D be? July 23, 2021 July 23, 2021 admin

A little over a year ago, we wrote about a potential successor to the iconic ‘D.’

But now we’re hearing it might not be coming from a studio.ABC News’ John Kent reports that producer Robert Greenstein, who has a history of working with artists and bands, is leaving the project after two years on the job.

The news was first reported by Billboard.

According to Billboard, Greenstein is working with producer Mark Ronson, who is the man behind the music video for “Get Lucky,” and “The Miseducation of Cameron Post.”

We don’t know exactly how they’re working together, but the timing of the announcement seems to fit with the way the project was initially conceived.

In September 2015, Ronson told Billboard that he was looking for a creative partner to work with for the project.

The project would have featured “new material from different artists and a brand new story line,” according to Ronson.

The new “story line” was to be centered around a mysterious, alien entity that’s trying to “control the world.”

The story would have been “told through songs,” he added.

Greenstein’s departure comes amid an already-crowded slate of musical projects for Ronson to tackle.

He recently recorded a collaboration with Miley Cyrus titled “Fancy” featuring Miley and Jaden Smith.

He also is currently producing a movie with “The Last Jedi” star Daisy Ridley and has just signed on to produce a live music event with the rapper Big Sean called “The Rapper’s Big Bash.”
