It seems that Radiohead has finally got its answer to the question: “When will the next album be out?”
The band’s fifth studio album Black Pink has been delayed from its expected release date of September 22nd to October 2nd, 2016, the band’s official Twitter account has announced.
Black PINK was initially expected to be released on September 21st, but the delay has now been announced, which is a major boon for fans of the band.
In addition to this, the delay is also likely to be announced by Apple, which has previously said that its own albums would arrive in October.
The release of the album is not a surprise, as it has been a major fan favourite for years.
The band first announced the delay in October 2014, while in February of this year they released a new single titled ‘Black Skinhead’ featuring lead singer Thom Yorke.
As the band has already made multiple updates regarding the release of new albums, the delayed release of Black Pinks album has been met with some scepticism.
“We’ve got a great track list, we’ve got loads of great music on it, we have all sorts of new ideas and we just don’t know when we’ll be able to put it out,” Yorke told Rolling Stone in June.
“But we think it’s gonna be out.
It’s definitely something we’re thinking about and we’re not worried.”
However, while it is still not a certainty that Black Pinky will arrive in time, the album’s release date is certainly something that fans can look forward to.
Radiohead have already teased that Black Pink will arrive later in the year, and in November 2018 they teased that the band would release a second album.
“I’d love to be able for us to come out with another record, but we’ve gotta keep playing,” Yorker said in June 2017.
“If we could do that, then we’d have a lot more freedom to do it again.
We’d be more in control, and that would be good.”
With a new album, a new lineup, and a slew of new songs, it seems that fans will finally be getting to see the band once again, which would make this new album all the more surprising.
“A lot of people have been waiting for us for years,” Yorkey told Rolling Star in September.
It feels like the band is just in the middle of a recording. “
People don’t always understand that when you release a record, you don’t have to be in the studio every single day.
They can make a record in their bedroom.” “
They’re in their own world, and it feels like they’re really in a world where they can’t really do anything, but that’s okay.
They can make a record in their bedroom.”
Radiohead will be performing at the Rock in Rio Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the lead up to the release, which will take place from October 9-10.
