Prince is looking to get back on his feet and he’s looking for his old fans, his old bandmates, the people who love him and his hometown.
“I’d like to have your support, your opinion and your support,” the R&B star said on Tuesday at a tour stop in North Carolina.
“And I’d like your opinions on my songs.
I’ve got a new song coming out.
So I’d love for you to give me your opinion on it.”
The first song from his new album, “Songs From The Heart,” will be released Thursday (April 14).
The album was recorded in February and released April 4.
The singer and songwriter previously told Rolling Stone that his new record is a new direction for the singer-songwriter and his solo career.
“We wanted to be a little more playful and we want to do more than just record music,” Prince told Rolling “The Sun” magazine.
“The songs are just songs that I write.
I don’t do the singing.
It’s like I’m singing, but it’s really just me singing.””
It’s not a new thing,” he added.
“It’s a way of saying something and I’ve just always done that.
But it’s not necessarily a new sound.
I think it’s something that is still very much in my DNA.”
Prince said he wants to “re-create” his music.
“There’s so much that I want to capture and be able to make a record that is as real as possible,” he said.
“But I’ve also got a little bit of an ego, so I’m going to try and have a little fun, a little goof around, and try to make this a little different than anything that I’ve done before.”
Prince has worked with artists including Kanye West, Madonna and Drake and has performed in concert in the U.S. and Canada.
The Prince of Wales is expected to make his first U.K. solo appearance on May 2.
He was previously scheduled to perform at the Brit Awards on May 14 in London.
