Posted July 14, 2018 10:05amBy the end of last month, BTS have announced that they’ve completed their new album “Doki Dongolone”.
The album is due out on July 19, with an online streaming campaign set to kick off on July 20.BTS have previously revealed that the new album was a culmination of everything that they’d been thinking about, from the concept of the group to the concept and production of their debut album.
The album has been described as a “superficial and simple” record, which has featured a more traditional pop-punk aesthetic.
The concept behind the album, which was released as a single, is to showcase the band’s strengths as a whole, which is in contrast to the darker sound and production they’ve been known for.
“The way we look at music is, what is our music really about?”
BTS co-founder Rap Monster said at the time.
“If we can’t figure out what is really important in music, then what is music?”
He added: “This album is about finding our own vision of music and creating music that reflects that vision.
That’s why we put so much focus on our vocals, because we want them to sound as powerful as possible.”
For fans, the announcement came as no surprise as BTS had long been known as the quintessential pop-rock band.
Their debut album, “Love Yourself”, was a breakout hit, winning the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2014.
“DokiDoki Morning” is their most ambitious release yet, but also one that is still largely in the realm of pop-pop, with the more traditional R&B-rock elements of the previous albums remaining.
A new album is the last thing fans want to hear from BTS, but the group are not shy about pushing their creative boundaries.
The band released “The Next Step” last year, which featured a guest appearance by Lady Gaga.
